AS SEEN ON IG

The groundhog struck. Winter is raging. And February was full of wishes for warmer weather. But in the meantime, we've been complaining like everyone else, dreaming of summer, and doing anything we can to take a vacation. We imagined what it would be like if our products came in faux-fur winter packaging too.

RECOMMENDED BEACH READS

Another year, another round-up from Baskforce member and resident #BookTok queen Nicole Pearce (IGTikTok). This month, she's sharing 7 books she'll be reading this year, and that are great for any spring vacation.

  • East of Eden by John Steinbeck
I’ve been wanting to read this for years. I also wanna read Grapes by Steinbeck, but that one I’m not in as much of a rush to get to.

  • The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
I’m gonna save this one for October. I’ve never, never read anything by Shirley Jackson. Very excited for that one.

  • Christine by Stephen King
While we’re on the topic of spooky books, I’m slowly reading Stephen King’s books in chronological order and the next two coming up from here — one I’m really excited about — is Christine.

  • Giovanni’s Room by James Baldwin
I love following @BooksAreSick because I feel like we have similar taste in books and he said that this was his favorite book he read in 2025, so it immediately went on my list.

  • A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
I loved The Kite Runner. I know this one will probably also emotionally destroy me so I’m gonna wait until I’m ready for it, but I’ve been meaning to read it forever.

  • Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton
I never would’ve thought to read this one, but so many people have told me it’s one of their favorite books of all time. I have seen the movie but I gotta read it.

  • The Correspondent by Virginia Evans
So many of you said this was your favorite book you read last year and my neighborhood book club is actually reading it this month, but I am on hiatus from neighborhood book club with a newborn and a toddler. I can’t really do events that take place in the evening right now.

FOUNDER FAVES

  • Shakira (Shakira) has a haircare line that I have been loving. My hair is naturally very curly and the Miami humidity sends it into frizz frenzy on the regular. But I have been using the Isima shampoo and conditioner, and never really knew my hair could dance like this. Until now, I've never used a hydrating shampoo and conditioner for curly/frizzy hair where I haven't then had to use another smoothing or defrizzing product afterward.
  • My 4-year old and I have been jamming out to Brent Holmes! He makes vibey island music for kids, and it's so much fun!
  • I love these Papa Steve's No Junk Raw Protein Bars! They're really tasty with a super clean ingredient profile, and they're jam-packed with protein. Highly recommend!
  • Oversized striped PJs are very in right now, and I found the (very comfortable) Amazon dupes which I will be wearing every night after this baby comes!

  • Yesterday would have been my late uncle Braden's 70th birthday had we not lost him to melanoma. He was such an amazing guy, and I miss him every day. This is my (and my whole family's) favorite piece anyone ever wrote about him after his passing. If I could give one piece of advice to anyone with skin (besides wearing sunscreen) it would be this: go to your dermatologist every year for a skin check.  We built this Derm Finder as a helpful resource to find a doctor to get your skin checked.
  • I've written about The Pitt before. It's back for season two on HBO, and I absolutely love it. Warning: sometimes the surgery scenes can get a bit graphic. But Dr. Robbie is my new Coach Taylor, and it's legitimately a wonderful show that will give you an even greater appreciation of health care workers. New episode tomorrow night!
  • This is an old Tim Ferriss podcast interview with Jerry Seinfeld that I keep coming back to (from 2020). It's really amazing to hear an all time great like Jerry go deep into the process and habit of his craft - how he ritualizes writing, how he tests material, and how he documents audience feedback like data. I feel like the learnings are applicable across any type of work or interest.
  • I have been trying to play as much tennis as possible these days, and recently joined Miami Racket Club to meet more players. It's an incredible group led by a fellow NYC transplant that gets together at least weekly to play - from beginners to intermediate to advanced.
