A recent ButLikeMaybe x Bask collab is a fun peek into situationship life for a New York girl trying to navigate Hamptons season. This month we introduced "The Bask Girls" who will be captaining The Baskmobile on its journey through our favorite beach towns of the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast. Follow along on the Bask TikTok for behind-the-scenes looks as Lauren and Leigh (college roommates at Rollins) take their road trip! Today they're in Dewey Beach, DE.
SOME OF BASK'S FAVORITE SUMMER DESTINATIONS
Our favorite spots to go to be seen OR be lowkey.
THE NORTHEAST COAST, USA
Well yes, we are very biased here, but for good reason! The coast of states like Delaware, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts is brought to life in the summer season. A lot of these beach towns will actually see some shops and restaurants closing during the colder months, but when those flowers bloom you begin to see why North Easterners put up with the winter there. The beaches are beautiful, the temperatures are warm, the atmosphere is happy, the seafood is top notch and the idyllic vibes are incredible.
Where the crowds are: The Hamptons, Nantucket, Cape Cod, Newport, Martha's Vineyard
Something lowkey: Greenport, Mystic, Cape May, Shelter Island, Block Island
TAKE ME TO THE MED
Truly what's better than being a little bougie by summering in Europe? We LOVE the mediterranean this time of year, and it's often significantly less expensive than a weekend "Out East". But the word has gotten out, because it can definitely be crowded as we're not the only ones who feel this way. It's stunning shorelines, rich culture across many countries, amazing food, and lively atmosphere make the whole experience worth it and memorable. One amazing feature of Portugal and Spain? If you're on the East Coast you can head out for a long weekend in about as much time as it would take you to brave the Bay Bridge traffic from DC to Delaware.
Where the crowds are: Amalfi Coast, Nice, Santorini, Mykonos, Barcelona
Something lowkey: Menorca, Paros, Corsica, Sardinia, Malta
SCANDANAVIA
Some very special features about Norway, Denmark, and Sweden this time of year is the extra-long daylight hours, mild temperatures, and vibrant landscapes. Perfect for outdoor activities and exploring the region well into the evening. While it can sometimes be rainy, it's still considered the best time to visit for warmer weather. The breathtaking views of the mountains and fjords from any city or town will leave you in awe. Did we mention the pastries?
Where the crowds are: Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm
Something lowkey: Bornholm, Lofoten, Dalarna

While this is only some of the destinations we recommend, we know there's SO many more amazing spots around the US and the world to visit in the summer. If you're traveling somewhere special this summer, let us know! We love to get notes from the journeys of The Baskforce and photos you take your Bask SPF. • I've been loving the Mel Robbins podcast on long car rides. It's uplifting, inspiring, and so relatable. I especially enjoyed her 7 tips for a better life.
  • I love, love, love HoneyVeil matcha and bakery. These two super cute sisters who are driving their little Matcha Mobile all around Miami doing popups with lines around the corner. Get the cold foam! So cute and so good! Here's their Insta.
  • I just started journaling before bed again for the first time since my year abroad in Paris during my junior year in college! What a powerful wellness tool, and way to release thoughts and emotions before laying down. Sometimes it's so incredibly silly and random, sometimes it is full of tough things that I am processing, and sometimes purely joyful. Either way, I highly recommend it as a wind down tool.
  • Madewell makes an easy, affordable linen pant that's great for summer. Looks nice for like half the price! And you can even add the matching top.

  • A big win for the neighborhood with Pura Vida opening in Coconut Grove. As I've speculated before, I think The Grove has the most ice cream shops per capita anywhere in America, and Pura Vida is joining that club by offering delicious gelato and softserve free of refined/processed sugar.
  • Uchiko in Miami Beach is so good. I'm still dreaming about the salmon nigiri with preserved lemon and skyr yogurt 🤤
  • Recently had an amazing experience at Brooklyn Storehouse for Purple Disco Machine. Great venue and I love PDM who feature prominently in the Bask Suncare Spotify playlist.
  • Been rocking my "No Time For Ableism" shirt from Inclusive Social Club everywhere. Fun, beachy design in support of autism.
