FOUNDER FAVES

Britt
  • Doen just opened a store in Nantucket, and I want everything inside of it.
  • The invite-only, LA & NY Pilates cult Forma Pilates is opening up in Miami in Sunset Harbor on August 1. I've never been, and I'm excited for my first class next week!
  •  I want this pool! Why don't more people do this? I have gone deep on pools with painted and mosaic tile bottoms on Pinterest 😍
  • We have a trip to Nantucket coming up (!!!!), and I've been shoppinggg. I love these silky satin shorts from Reformation. I'm going to pair them with a striped tee or knit polo for a fun contrast. I also love this Aerie dress (my first activewear dress!). The built-in shorts with a phone pocket is a nice little feature, and it's comfortable and cute, and a nice changeup from leggings. And these boho-style suede sandals that are super comfortable and go with anything!

  • I finally bought a Ninja Creami. It's too big to fit in the cabinets, but it's amazing. I may or may not be eating a pint of ice cream a night BUT they only have 320 calories plus 60 grams of protein. My base: Fairlife milk, sugar free jello mix, and protein powder. The tutorial.
  • NOA, News Over Audio, let's me listen to articles on the go and I love it.
  • I stumbled across a Thread discussing the "best trilogies" which was full of the usual suspects except for one I had never heard of The Before Trilogy, which is so worth a watch. They explore a romantic relationship at three distinct stages of life. Britt and I loved them.
  • Brand new to Coconut Grove, and a top-notch breakfast sandwich and amazing pastries, is the food truck in the parking lot at 22nd and Route 1 called Ophelia.

SUMMER READING LIST

Welcome to another round-up from Baskforce member and resident #BookTok queen Nicole Pearce (IGTikTok). This month she's sharing some palette cleanser books that if your last book was a little heavy, are fun, weird, or just straight-up delightful reads to lighten things up.

  • The Grownup by Gillian Flynn
A super short read (just over 60 pages) and totally unlike Flynn’s other work. It’s quirky, ghosty, and has one of the best opening lines ever. Part creepy, part clever, and over before you know it.

  • Big Swiss by Jen Beagin
This one’s unhinged—in the best way. It follows a woman who transcribes sex therapy sessions... and falls for one of the clients. Funny, weird, and definitely not your typical love story.

  • Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson
The premise? Kids who spontaneously combust when they’re upset. But somehow, it’s tender and sweet and surprisingly moving. Absurd on the surface, but insightful underneath.

  • The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman
Four elderly friends in a retirement village set out to solve a real murder. The mystery itself is fine, but the characters and their relationships are what make this book such a joy.
