FALL READING LIST
Welcome to another round-up from Baskforce member and resident #BookTok queen Nicole Pearce (IG, TikTok). This month, she's sharing some of the top 3 books she'll be reading this fall.
Different Seasons by Stephen King — A collection of four novellas that showcase King’s range beyond horror, though there are dark elements throughout. Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption is iconic and quietly powerful; Apt Pupil is deeply unsettling and ethically twisted; The Body is nostalgic and heartfelt (the basis for Stand By Me); and The Breathing Method is the weakest of the bunch but still worth reading.
Cleopatra and Frankenstein by Coco Mellors — A sharp, emotionally complex love story between two flawed people—Cleo and Frank—and the orbit of friends and acquaintances around them. It’s funny, dark, tender, and full of unforgettable characters.
Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry — An epic Western that’s somehow intimate, profound, and totally addictive. Despite its 1,000-page length, you’ll want to stay in this world forever. The slow early chapters only make you love the characters more—and the emotional payoff is huge.

I’ve been lighting these littleHibi incense matcheslately. They burn for about ten minutes and instantly change the mood of a room. They’re tiny, beautiful, and somehow make the house smell like a boutique hotel. My current favorite scent is Japanese Cypress. It’s fresh, calm, and clean. Good for home andtravel.
I just found the sweetest little upscale kids’ shop in South Miami calledTecomoabesos. Everything feels curated and special, the kind of place where you end up buying a gift for someone else and something for your own kid too.
I’ve been using theseBIODANCEhydrogel masks and they’re really good. They’re all super hydrating and make my skin feel fresh again after a day outside.
I just found a one-size suit fromElysiianthat’s super cute and stretchy so it works duringpregnancytoo. I already have aHunza G, but this is a more affordable option that feels just as good.

It can be hard to dress in Miami. What I've learned is that comfort is king in the sun (especially during the summer), but I don't want to always be the guy in a t-shirt or a polo made for golf - especially if I have a meeting. I think the polos from Kent Wang and G. Inglese do a nice job treading the line between comfort/relaxed and refined.
I went back to Sunny's this weekend. Such a great vibe, service, and delicious food. I know everyone is raving about it these days (and that I already wrote about it once), but it's worth it. The char on their steaks is epic, and every dish is delicious and decadent. If you're local and haven't been, go. If you're planning a winter trip to Miami, try to work in a dinner at Sunny's.
Just read Let My People Go Surfing by Yvon Chouinard, the founder of Patagonia. I’ve always loved stories about founders who built brands around purpose instead of spreadsheets. Chouinard’s journey with Patagonia is one of those rare ones, and the memoir is equal parts adventure story, business manual, and reminder that doing good can scale.
