Building sun-safe habits that last a lifetime
Most lifetime sun damage happens before age 18 — yet sun safety is rarely taught where kids spend their summers. The Lil' Rhody Sun Safe Project changes that. Led by the Partnership to Reduce Cancer in Rhode Island's Sun Safety Task Force, it brings real sun-protection education and quality products to 500+ underserved middle schoolers across the state.
Bask is proud to be the project's sunscreen partner — donating the SPF that fills every "Sun Smart SPF Sack" and stocks the shared sunscreen stations at every camp and school.

The program is built around two layers of protection — so every child has their own essentials, plus supervised reapplication throughout the day.
A Sun Smart SPF Sack for every child
Each of the 500 kids gets their own take-home kit — an SPF 50 mineral stick for face and lips and a Bask bucket hat — so protection goes wherever they do.
Shared sunscreen stations
Counselors and teachers run supervised stations stocked with Bask lotion and spray — a morning base layer plus midday reapplication across three camps over six weeks.

Prep & assembly
Bask products delivered and labeled; Sun Smart SPF Sacks assembled for distribution.
Launch on Don't Fry Day
Kickoff at two pilot middle schools in East Providence and Newport, reaching 200 sixth graders.
Camps roll out
Three summer camps — about 100 kids each — bring daily, supervised sun safety to 300 more campers.
