We also believe deeply in the preventative power of sunscreen, and are trying to make a big impact by injecting a little fun into an otherwise boring, staid, medicinal, and overly-beautified SPF category. Marketing Lead
Location: New York, Miami (Remote OK… it’s the future)
We’re Bask! Sunshine lovers masquerading as a company, on a mission to make sunscreen fun, cool, and impossible not to use. We believe in the power of leisure, the seduction of travel, and the importance of a mini umbrella in a daiquiri. We also believe that sunscreen should feel good, look good, and do good.
Skin cancer is preventable; the 5 million diagnoses each year say we’re not doing enough. We’re here to fix that by getting more people to wear more sunscreen more often — and have a great time doing it.
To get there, we’re looking for a Head of Marketing who can build, lead, and scale a world-class marketing organization. Someone who sits seamlessly across brand + performance, who is as fluent in design and visual storytelling as they are in paid strategy, analytics, and growth tactics.

About the Role
You will help construct the end-to-end marketing function at Bask. You will architect the strategy, build the team, and roll up your sleeves to execute brand-defining and revenue-driving campaigns that grow our audience, sales, and cultural footprint.
In partnership with the CEO, you will lead both brand marketing (storytelling, creative direction, social + influencer, partnerships, campaigns) and performance marketing (paid ads, CRO, direct response, growth loops, funnel optimization). In short: you will tell a great story and make numbers go up.
Key Responsibilities
Growth, Performance, & Revenue
- Own growth across all KPIs: audience, revenue, CAC, LTV, ROAS, repeat purchase, engagement.
- Build and execute the full-funnel acquisition strategy across paid social, search, affiliates, and emerging channels.
- Lead paid advertising across Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, and retail/ecomm channels.
- Maintain a robust testing calendar across creative, copy, placements, audiences, landing pages, and formats.
- Set, track, and analyze all performance KPIs; use insights to optimize campaigns and inform creative.
Brand, Creative, & Storytelling
- Own and evolve the Bask brand: marketing strategy, visual identity, tone, messaging, and creative direction.
- Oversee development of all creative assets across organic social, paid, web, retail, email, and partnerships.
- Partner closely with designers, photographers, creators, and agencies to deliver best-in-class creative.
- Drive brand campaigns from ideation to execution — launches, seasonal moments, collabs, stunts, social-first activations.
- Ensure all brand expressions are cohesive, culturally relevant, and unmistakably Bask.
Social Media, Community, & Influencer
- Grow and manage our presence on Instagram and TikTok, including content cadence, formats, hooks, and storytelling.
- Develop platform-native strategies that increase reach, engagement, shares, and community advocacy.
- Build repeatable social series, develop content calendars, and experiment aggressively with trends, formats, and creators.
- Lead influencer strategy:
- Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with creators across size tiers (nano → celebrity).
- Build and execute gifting programs, seeding strategies, and brand ambassadorships to drive organic reach and UGC.
- Develop scalable inbound + outbound workflow for creator sourcing, communication, tracking, and content usage.
- Own community engagement across channels — comments, DMs, social listening, relationship building.
- Create breakthrough cultural moments that drive earned media, virality, and brand love.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Build, lead, hire, and mentor the marketing team.
- Partner with the CEO and Sales on retail launch strategies, revenue targets, merchandising moments, and cross-channel rollouts.
- Collaborate closely with product, creative, and operations to ensure aligned storytelling and high-performing execution.
- Provide ongoing category and competitive analysis to keep Bask ahead of the curve.
Required Experience & Skills
- 3-5+ years in marketing preferred with strong experience in both brand and performance at a high-growth consumer or e-commerce company. But we consider people of all backgrounds who have a great eye, and a strong desire to learn.
- Successful track record managing paid social, funnel strategy, CAC/LTV performance, and creative testing.
- Demonstrated ability to grow and engage audiences on Instagram + TikTok (deep familiarity with hooks, formats, timing, and platform culture).
- Strong creative eye: able to guide design, photography, storytelling, and brand consistency.
- Strong analytical skills; fluent in data, attribution, segmentation, and optimization.
- Experience managing agencies, freelancers, and internal teams.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, Klaviyo (or similar ESP), attribution tools, and dashboards.
- Brand or creative agency experience is a major plus, but not required.
- Ability to own strategy and execution — comfortable being both director and doer.
